On Tuesday 26th May meet Remel London, Ruby Mulraine, Kwaku, DJ Ace and more to be announced at the Diversity and the media debate presented by the UAL ACS society.
Despite the UK being a melting-pot of cultures, black and ethnic minorities are too often under-represented in various categories of the media – including the British music industry.
In our final series of “Diversity and the Media” we’ll be questioning, “where is the ‘black’ in British music?” To help us answer this will be a panel of music industry professionals and musicians.
This event will highlight various black musical influences i.e. Reggae, Garage, Afrobeat etc, that have contributed towards the making of what British music is today. How is British Black music represented, and who represents it?…
