Remel London’s ‘Pick Me Up’ artist is Sampha.

October 1, 2013 | by Remel London

Sometimes there are only a few songs or even artists who can pick you up when your feeling low and my Pick Me Up artist has got to be Sampha.

Now  I know some of you may be thinking ” You only like him because he featured on Drake’s Nothing was the Same album” ERM NO….That’s where you are wrong. I first stumbled on to Sampa in 2010 when he featured on a then Funky House producer call Lil Silva’s EP called The Patience EP on a track entitled On your own ( which is still on of my favourite songs of all time.. I literally just bought it again with excitement).

Sampha has continued to develop his on ssound and thousands have flocked to his Soundcloud regularly to get a dose of his solo work and projects with SBTRKT and others.

Now he is taking me on a heavenly journey with his July 2013 release the Dual EP.

Tracks such as ‘Without’ and ‘Beneath the Tree’ show a different class of production. I’m absolutely blown away by this man’s talent.

Working with Drake is definitely the start of a perfect solo career for Sampha, as in m,y opinion he stole the show, on his recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show as Drake’s featured artist to perform ‘Too Much’.

Let’s continue to support the brilliant talents in the UK music scene.
