This is the brand new video from Snoop Lion – formerly known as Snoop Dogg.
The video captures a poignant message of non-violence in the wake of several national tragedies. “No Guns Allowed” is the new single from Snoop Lion’s forthcoming reggae and dancehall influenced album, REINCARNATED, available on April 23, 2013.

The song features Drake and snoops cute daughter Cori B.

As much as the message behind this track is amazing, sad to say I couldn’t take this seriously until Drake came in and brought it back to reality.

Past songs such as Black eyed peas – Where is the love and The all-star 9/11 What’s going on – tribute and others are believable but some how all I could think of was – gangsta party and sensual seduction from snoop dogg!

However, with the new name also comes a new leaf turned for Snoop.
This track comes after a spiritual awakening as Snoop Lion, that grew from a recent trip to Jamaica, where Snoop experienced a deep connection, to become a man of peace, positivity, and spirituality.

“It’s a powerful song and we hope to spread a positive message that hits home with people,” says Snoop Lion. “We’ve seen too much bloodshed involving guns and we want to prevent the next incident from happening. That’s what’s it all about, trying to bring awareness and push love and peace.”

Well I hope it makes the impact intended. Shout out to my 14 year old Cousin Nicole, who says she almost cried when she watched it! I guess that’s who this is for and again I hope it touches more like that!
