Rocking Ur Teens CIC in association with intelligent information specialists Thomson Reuters are pleased to announce their inaugural ‘Rocking Ur Teens’ Conference on 12 March 2015 at Thomson Reuters Canary Wharf HQ.

The energetic and interactive day will be hosted by award winning presenter Remel London. Confirmed keynote speakers Emma Barnett (Women’s Editor of the Telegraph), Yasmin Ali (Young Woman Engineer of the Year 2013) and the Mandeville Sisters (Presenters and vLoggers) will be sharing life experiences and inspiring messages with 200 young girls aged 13-14 from all over the UK.

The conference will focus on supporting teen girls in a safe, fun, informative environment to learn, share and grow whilst providing effective tools to help them to successfully navigate their teen years.
The keynotes will be followed by a choice of 30-minute workshops on leadership, entrepreneurship, making good choices and technology. After this, there will be a panel of apprentices, graduates and interns sharing their experience of working in the corporate world.

The day continues with a second choice of 30-minute workshops. The day will end with a final session on Social Change when the girls will take a pledge to make a difference. The day ends with the music of Tendai.

The ‘Rocking Ur Teens’ conference coincides with National Apprenticeship Week, which runs from 9-13 March 2015. International Women’s Day also takes place in the same week and serves to highlight the importance of enabling young girls to find their way into the workplace and towards a fulfilling life.

‘Rocking Ur Teens’ is a community interest project co-founded by Jenny Garrett, Sandy Parris and Geoffrey Williams to inspire and increase the aspirations of young teens, to share their experiences and take an active role in defining their futures and careers.
